Summation Part 5: Making connections 5.2
For this exercise, reflecting on my past work so far I have printed off some of the work I like or connect with the most, these being some of my favourite pieces or something I had a good or personal experience creating it. Firstly, putting them all in a pile I grouped a few together as I felt some connected to each other more than others.
Using the technique SCAMPER, I applied it to creating new images and new ideas mixing some of the pictures together.
I started with grouping all of the characters that I made from
other things or from imagination.Using collaging or pareidolia and bringing charatcrs to life.
This group is all the sketchbook drawings/sketches more
traditional style pieces, this includes observational sketches, instructions, experimenting with coffee and stroyboarding...
Another with my digital pieces. This is a group of expressions
This one is all animals.
After establishing some of the obvious connections I then started trying to put together little narratives or substituting and combing random pictures or have a character using a picture for something else.
and then I played around even more using scamper to create more abstract concepts and fun scenes...
the colours match well with these two and the 'AAAAAAAA' is quite fitting considering the panic of seening someone on the floor or being lost.
these could be all people and things existing all from different styles together.
I expanded a little on this one by just making this environment as if it was a different strangely mismatch trippy city where a lot appears to be happeing but its still seems casual.
Then taking simple approach usign the C in scamper to combined two pictures to create a new narrative
